Humvee 82MM Variant

While the Humvee (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle - HMMWV) is a versatile military vehicle with many variants used by the USMC for transport and supporting various weapons systems, it's generally associated with larger caliber weapons like machine guns (M2 .50 caliber, M60 7.62mm) or automatic grenade launchers (MK 19). 

However, there has been a specific instance of a Humvee variant, Scorpion, fitted with a

Soviet-designed 82mm automatic mortar called the 2B9 Vasilek. This particular version was developed by the U.S. Army's Picatinny Arsenal in 2004 as a heavy chassis HMMWV and was designed to provide both direct and indirect fire support, including the ability to destroy roadside bombs from a safer distance. It's important to note that only one such unit of the Scorpion variant was produced.
